Here's What Critics are Saying about Andy McCutcheon:

Reviews
"A Great CD!" --Ray Manzarek of The Doors

"McCutcheon's gift for melodic hooks and his uncanny ability to emulate classic rock heroes (early David Bowie, Marc Bolan, Lou Reed, Ian Hunter & The Doors) adds up to a collection of original glam-edelic tunes that will be of interest to creative music supervisors and labels!"

Music Connection Demo Review

"Andy's mastery of writing dark yet optimistic lyrics is nothing short of amazing. Anyone who gets their hands on this EP will be holding their breath until a full length CD becomes available. Andy's music is pop rock in its truest sense, blending together the new and the old to make an incredible, clean and original sound.

Review of Life Is Too Short
Live Magazine

"Somewhere between early Bowie and Cake lies the sound of Andy McCutcheon. Melding elements of alt. rock, classic rock and folk into a pop format, he cross-pollinates a variety of genres into a unique style. McCutcheon is a charismatic performer peddling a one-of a-kind product ."

Music Connection Club Review

"In the music world, we encounter those rare individuals who see things differently and whose music makes you turn your head and take notice. Andy McCutcheon is such a visionary. We get the sense listening to Welcome to Periphery that he tosses out the rule book when it comes to music... But then, isn't that how rock's most legendary innovators became that way? Welcome to Periphery is an adventurous, fun listen, as McCutcheon demonstrates off-the-wall quirkiness and eccentricity that makes him stand apart from the rest of the pack."

Review of Welcome to Periphery
D'Scribe of Final Cut

"Jim Morrison, David Bowie, Bob Dylan, Beck, Kula Shaker, The Beatles, David Byrne, The Moody Blues, Nick Cave, Beastie Boys. No, I'm not making a laundry list of my favorite artists. I'm listing the myriad of musical influences that prominently inform the work of Los Angeles based ANDY McCUTCHEON. Since his early teens, McCutcheon has recorded original music steeped in existential poetry and eclectic psychedelic shadings. His debut, Out of the Lion's Mouth, captures the mystical essence of Jim Morrison's darkest epic poems and melds them with funk-rhythm tracks to make them almost danceable. His follow-up, Welcome to Periphery, takes this... further and ventures off into a Bowiesque/Moody Bluesy aural tapestry. "Never Break a Psycho's Heart" is funny and perceptive in its twisted frankness, but it's his meandering poetry and unabashed willingness to be off-kilter, kitschy and keen (on insight) that makes his literary music such a pleasure. Different, but Familiar. An interesting combination."

Two CD Review
Roxanne of Extreme Magazine

"Americans call it Glitter Rock. In England we call it Glam Rock. It has shades of so many things I love: Bowie, Bolan, The Doors. It's a voice from the past, full of atmosphere. Mmm ... fucking made me shiver!"
